Surfing For Movies: Renting Movies Online

Did you know renting movies online has become more popular in recent years? The average cost of seeing a movie in a theater has nearly doubled; therefore, many people have chosen to take the alternative approach–renting movies instead.

Renting movies from the video store is still common; however, it doesn’t offer the same convenience as renting movies online. First, you must drive all the way to the store. And once you get there, you’re faced with the possibility of not finding exactly what you’re looking for. Then, after searching for what seems like hours (and sometimes is), you may find yourself waiting in long check-out lines.

If that weren’t enough, try forgetting your account number or ID. Now you may experience a lengthy interrogation process, or worse, if you haven’t rented anything in a while, you may be expected to take some extra time to re-apply for new membership.

On top of all this, there’s the late fees should you either forget to bring the movies back or the car breaks down, leaving you without transportation and unable to return the movies. Either way, just one or two days can quickly add up.

On the other hand, with online rental companies, there’s no driving. They also offer a wider selection of movies to choose from, quickly and easily. After signing up for their service, you simply log on and browse through the selections, which are usually listed in both genres and sub-genres. Choose your movie and that’s it.

And as a bonus, with every selection, there’s the option of checking current reviews. No more long searches, no more long lines, no more unexpected hassles, and best of all, no more late fees. In fact, most of the leading online movie rental companies such as Netflix and Blockbuster online, have no due date or late fee worries.

You should, however, do your homework, researching these online companies thoroughly. Look out for and be aware of the fine print. There may be some of the smaller online rental companies out there charging up to $1.50 per movie for additional viewing.

Along with the convenience of renting a movie from the comfort of your home is the cost. With various payment options that suit nearly any budget or individual viewing habits, you are pretty much guaranteed to find something meeting your needs. You can rent a single movie at a time or get a monthly plan, which can include up to 3 or 4 movies out at a time. Many of the online rental companies also offer free trial periods with monthly membership fees as low as $15. Even better, with competition booming, lower prices are inevitable. Considering the fact that you may already be spending $20 or more per month on movies or the fact that postage is paid both ways, online movie rentals can be quite a bargain.

For even more convenience, there’s also the option of creating a wish list, or queue, to keep the movies coming. Once a movie is returned, another from the list is sent out as they become available. Email confirmation is sent both ways as well. Of course, as with any business or service, there may be downsides. Unless you’re a new member, some of the new releases may be harder to come by. Most of the availability is dependent on the returns from other members. Also, unlike video stores, you don’t get to view movies right away. Most online movie rentals are delivered within 1-3 business days, and depending on availability, viewing the top movies on your wish list may not happen as soon as you would like. DVDs can also get easily scratched or damaged from continual handling through the mail.

All in all, however, the good far outweighs the bad. Renting a movie online offers something neither a theater nor video store can–convenience at a reasonable price, no long lines and no late fees.

Download Internet Movies

If you want to download Internet movies, then you are in luck. There are many websites on the Internet that allows you to download Internet movies whether free or paid.

With the availability of high-speed Internet access, it has become possible for people to download or even stream Internet movies from our homes without stepping out of the house. There is no need to go to your local DVD store to buy or rent a DVD as it’s all available on the Internet.

Before downloading any Internet movies online, make sure it is legal to download. Not all Internet movies sites are legal and you could be infringing copyright laws if the Internet movie is a bootleg or pirated copy.

One site I know of that is safe and legal to download Internet movies is Archive.Org. These Internet movies are in the public domain and it is perfectly legal to download. They are literally thousands of movies for you to download. The only bad thing is the movies are pretty old.

If you are looking to download internet movies that are more current and also legal to download, then I would highly recommend signing up for one of those legal movie download sites.

Usually, you only need to pay a one time membership fee which cost probably about $50.00 and you can download unlimited internet movies. The image quality is also pretty good and the best thing is it is legal.

Previously I have tried downloading from free movie download sites but I found the movies were low quality and the download speed was extremely slow. For paid movie download sites, download speeds are faster but of course you also need a high cable or DSL line to download at a faster speed.

Some of these paid movie download sites even provide free software to burn your Internet movies onto DVD.

I highly recommend paid movie download sites if you want to download Internet movies. It is easy and cheap to download and you can be assured it is legal.

The Online Movie Rental Market Share is Growing

Why The Online Movie Rental Market Share is Growing and Why the Traditional Video Rental Store is Being Eliminated?

Have you ever wondered why companies like Blockbusters are having such a hard time? It’s because renting movies from a store is not as convenient as it once was. Today many people are finding it much more convenient to rent a movie online, and that means that the online movie rental business is taking a bite of the market share for companies that actually have stores. Just think about it, which would you rather do? Come home from work, take care of the kids, make dinner, clean up and then face traffic again to go rent a movie, or worse yet have to face traffic just to take a movie back, so that you don’t get penalized with late fees.

The truth is that renting movies online has become much more convenient. In this process, all you have to do is look through the titles from the comfort of your computer desk, choose a few titles, rent them and then receive the movies in about a day, or better yet, download them to your computer in about an hour. Plus you have the added benefit of finding movie titles that you could never find in a video store. The store just isn’t big enough. On the other hand an online store, will have hundreds of thousands of titles for you to choose from, and all of them have been easily categorized.

Any way you look at it – renting – online is far more beneficial than renting from a store. The online rentals are also less expensive than the video store rentals, by about half, and usually don’t have any type of late fee. This means you can watch and re-watch movies to your hearts content before sending them back.

The only draw back to the online store is that you generally have to be a member, but membership fees are very small, and there are many services included with your membership fee, plus most online stores will give you a free trial period in which you can see if the service is one you would like to keep.
